Bears LB D'Marco Jackson not fined for hit on Jalen Hurts

Bears LB D’Marco Jackson was not fined by the NFL for his hit on Jalen Hurts in the second quarter on Monday night.

Jackson was flagged on the field for unnecessary roughness for a hit near the sideline that forced Hurts out of the game to be checked for a concussion.

As that process to check Hurts for a concussion lagged, the Eagles ended up turning the football over on an Andy Dalton third-down interception. The Eagles had 1st-and-goal from the 1 yard line during that sequence and were unable to score without their starting quarterback.

Hurts was visibly angry as he peeked out of the blue tent in time to watch the touchdown. He was cleared after that interception and led the Eagles on a scoring drive on the next possession but the Eagles ended up losing 27-7.

After the hit, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was seen shouting expletives in Jackson’s direction. He later regretted his actions.

“Obviously, you want to always fight for your players, and protect your players,” Sirianni said after the game. “I always come away when I have a moment like that with remorse of, ‘Man, I shouldn’t have let my emotions get the best of me.’”
